Our new publication Reproductions examines the principles of meme making – with a focus on classical art memes –, its cultural relevance, and what developments enabled this practice. In every meme there is a contrast between the source material and the new (super)imposed meaning which adds to the humor of the image. Our interest in the contrasts between words and image, between intent and result, between context and origin results in a carefully curated publication consisting of four written texts and three visual essays.

In You And I Meet Six Individuals the reader is guided through various perceptions of culture. The focus of the work lies on a contemplative analysis of the works of three philosophers: Guy Debord, Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer. In a playful, yet informative way You And I Meet Six Individuals explains their concepts the spectacle and the culture industry. By analyzing these concepts a new state of spectacle is coined: the meta-spectacle.
